Besides, that one wasn't even a good one. Although Creeps does a good job of it, there are much more frightening than summoning up something dark from the inside of yourself.

Also, the man only perceived his tulpa as touching him. You see, as people love to explain, tulpas are "thought forms." Your thoughts, formed. Considering that people can will themselves to believe just about anything, it's plausible that he could've perceived his tulpa to bust his balls. Literally.
@Tulpabug I find it rather hilarious, that believing that "Disbelief is most likely to hold you back if you believe it can" probably makes it more likely that disbelief will hold you back if you believe it can. Infinite belief recursion!(edited)
Disbelief will move you forward. It's impossible to tell when your tulpa is making progress until you get that unexplainable "spark." Then on, you shouldn't be too doubtful.
What most new people(Tulpas and hosts) tend to not get, is that tulpa's beliefs matter as well, and with time as much or potentially more than the host's
If you're concerned about offending them, you could state that you don't want to end up with a fake during narration, and that is why you act with doubt until they are capable of responding strongly.
The whole experience just seems impossible to fully comprehend without personally experiencing it. I've recently started forcing and don't doubt the reality of it. It just seems so bizarre to have a second consciousness, I can't even grasp what that must be like
